We are trying to have a back-to-school giveaway for teachers and students in our community this year. Aside from the normal need in the community, this area suffered greatly during the fall/winter of 2009/2010 during the record flooding in GA. Many people still have not recovered. We would like to give away 400+ backpacks (for all grade levels)as well as totes for teachers. We anticipate a big turnout because an elementary school backs up our church property and the PTSA President attends our church and a middle school and 6th grade academy is across the street from our church. The 300+ is probably low; however, we have to start somewhere. Thank you in advance for anything you can do to help us!

Hello. I am a part of our church's community outreach team. We have held an event called "Operation Gear Up" the last five years. At this event school aged kids are given a bag full of school supplies at registration. After registration the children and their families stay and play various games, jump on inflatables, have family photos taken and eat lunch all at no cost to them, the event is FREE! Those attending our church donate the supplies and give-a-ways such as backpacks. We typically gather about 100 backpacks and would love to change things up this year and give each child a backpack in addition to their school supplies. This event has grown from the first year of serving close to 300 kids to now approximately 700! 700 backpacks is huge! Thank you for your help and support. -Laurie O'Hara

Hello and THANK YOU for being a company that blessed others by donating to various chariites! YOU ARE A BLESSING!

Our non-profit organization is taking a group of 18 students (jr. high, high school and college) kids to the Village of Hope Orphanage in Ghana Africa August 1-16, 2010. We would love to be able to take back packs to each of the 250 children living at the orphanage for their school supplies. There are 10 houses at the Village of Hope with 28-24 children living in each home with a set of "house parents." The children range in age from infants to high school students.

Back packs would be a HUGE blessing for these kids and because our group is large enough to take them with us to give to them, the timing would be perfect. Our prayer is to fill them with school supplies when we get to Accra, Ghana before arriving at the Village of Hope.

Thank you for your consideration. :)

blessings!

The Recovery and Restoration Program is an outreach program desiged to assist indiviuals and and/or families who are experiencing sequential transitions and are in need of a support team.

One of our goals during the "Back to School" event is to provide at least 100 to 300 children in attendance with backpacks filled with school supplies (i.e. pencils, pens, packs of paper, etc.) and information that emphasizes the importance of a good education. Due to the economic hardships we are currently experiencing, there has been an increased need for assistance among families in our community area.

We hope that you will assist our organization in this endeavor. It would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, or need additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me at (405) 371-7509 or renay_71@yahoo.com.

Each year we provide local children in our community with backpacks. Starting out at 160 and last year up to 1000. We ask for any type of donations possible and all are so greatly appreciated. We supply basic school supplies such as paper, pen, pencils, scissors, glue sticks and folders. Each year we increase our goal and this year we are asking for 5000 backpacks as our community is great in need. We will be recognizing all donors at our annual give-a-way.

Our local church has a food bank and a clothing ministry in place, as well. We are committed to reach our local community.

We pray for each organization listed here that their goals will be met. If you have any questions concerning our organization, please email us at cogopokee@yahoo.com

Organization: Cottonwood Church Write My Story
Hello!
The women at Cottonwood Church are providing filled backpacks for victims of human trafficking. When the girls are rescued they must escape without any belongings, so we want them to get off to a good start by providing the backpacks. Backpacks are very easy for the social workers to put in their trunks to have ready whenever needed. They like to have thirty on hand at all times, and we would like to keep them well-supplied.

We would certainly put the backpacks to good use, and at the same time the provision of the filled backpacks would let the girls know how very special and valuable they are. A great first step in helping them to move forward and fulfill the dreams that lie within their hearts. A great beginning to help them become productive citizens once again.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity to those less fortunate.
"Whatever good any man does, the Lord will repay him." Eph. 6:8

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Our church has been committed to serving our community and families. We are located in a declining neighborhood where parents are broken, in poor relationships and all to often addicted to drugs and/or alcohol. Sadly, kids are often left to fend for themselves and young children can be found roaming the streets at night. We try to hold as many events as possible to love and serve the children; events like helping them study for standardized testing and free movie and popcorn night. Last year, we held our first ever “Back to School Bash” and gave away over 200 backpacks filled with school supplies. Taking a closer look at the surrounding elementary school, we were enlightened to just how bad things are at home. The school often holds fundraisers to supply just the basic needs of bedding and food for the students. This year, we want to bless the teachers and the students by holding another back to school bash, but we want to take it to another level and supply every kindergarten student with a backpack filled with school supplies in addition to the 200+ last year. Our heart is also to buy supplies for the office and teachers to eliminate the out of pocket expense that they are often faced with.

Any assistance with supplies, backpacks would be much appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read my email and thank you for having a heart to bless and help others.

Organization: Harvesting Hope Ministries Write My Story
Hi,

We are a food ministry group based out of our church Faith Harvest Sanctuary located in Ellabell, GA. Myself, My wife, and two close friends of ours started up this Mission in January 2010. Our Mission is to " To provide for, and satisfy the hunger of children that are left wanting, and show the Love of God through the work of our Mission"
Please visit our website to see more - www.harvestinghopeministries.com

We just started our first program called "Bags of Love". Our desire with this program is to help meet the basic needs of children in our local community by ensuring that they do not go hungry when they are not in school. Many families around our community need help. We would love the opportunity to work with your school and establish a way to make sure that no child has to worry about what they will eat when a school breakfast or lunch is not available to them. Sending home BAGS OF LOVE for them to take home over the weekend would ensure that they are properly nourished and taken care of. These bags would be filled with food and possibly any other items that may be needed in the home such as basic personal hygiene items for the children. Ultimately, our goal would be to put together these bags on a Friday and have them available for the children in need to take home, and return with the same bag on Monday to be properly filled again the following week. God has placed a calling for our ministry to help our community. We hope to make a difference in the lives of these children. Times are harder than ever for parents trying to provide for their families.

We contacted Lanier Elementry, which is a local school near our church. We were speechless after talking with the Principle and School Nurse. They informed us that they have been waiting and hoping for something like this to come alone. They continued by telling us that there are 60 children that go hungry over the weekend and the food that they receive at school is the only full meals they get. These 60 kids are from grades K-2nd Grade, so there are so many more in this same situation.

We just sent 30 bags home for the first time on 4/16/10. We would love to help ALL the children, but unforntunatly we are unable to help them all at this time because we need more Book Bags. We are constantly having fundraiser and doing all we can to raise money for our Mission.

If there is anywat that you can assist with the Book Bag situation it would be
GREATLY APPRECIATED !!!

Thank You & God Bless
DJ w/ Harvesting Hope Ministries
